Behind the Scenes: How and Why I Capture You Authentically
When you think about boudoir photography, you might picture glamorous finished images—flawless, confident, powerful. But what you don’t usually see is what happens before those final photos are revealed.
That’s why I love sharing a glimpse of boudoir behind the scenes. Because the process isn’t about perfection—it’s about creating a space where you can be real, feel seen, and discover just how beautiful you already are.
Sometimes that means I’m crouched in a deep squat, leaning sideways at an angle that looks questionable, or balancing on tiptoe while holding my camera. Sometimes it means I’m down on the floor or climbing onto furniture—whatever it takes to capture you at your best.
Because my job isn’t just to take a “pretty” picture. My job is to capture you—the authentic, powerful woman in front of me. And often that means I’m the one contorting myself so you never have to.
Boudoir Posing Without Objectifying
One of the biggest things I hear from women is that they fear posing will feel awkward or frustrating. And honestly? I get it. If you’ve ever had someone try to twist you into an unnatural position or direct you into something that didn’t feel right, you know how uncomfortable it can be.
That’s not how boudoir should feel. No pose is worth you feeling objectified or dehumanized.
My Approach to Boudoir Behind the Scenes
When you’re in my studio, I don’t manipulate—I guide. I coach you through poses that feel comfortable and true to you. I show you how to move in ways that actually feel good in your body and reflect your personality.
And one of my favorite parts of the boudoir behind the scenes process? Showing you the back of the camera. Not because you need reassurance, but because I want you to see the magic we’re creating together. The look on a woman’s face when she sees herself on that little screen and realizes, “That’s me?!”—that’s the moment everything shifts.
Because You’re More Than Just a Client
When I photograph you, you’re not just another subject. You’re the reason I give every bit of myself in the session. Your story, your strength, your vulnerability, your confidence—those are the things I’m working to capture.
So yes, the boudoir behind the scenes process might include me crawling on the floor or twisting my body in ridiculous ways—but it’s all in service of helping you feel authentic, confident, and empowered.
Because at the end of the day, I don’t just want you to say, “That was a nice photoshoot.” I want you to feel something far more powerful:
“That was me. And I am proud of what I see.”
