REDEEMED: AN INTIMATE PORTRAITURE EXPERIENCE
I remember her telling me she’d had a disaster with her first experience with intimate photography. Please note, that first experience wasn’t with me.
My heart was crushed for her!
The way she told it was funny - she meant it to be. It was her coping mechanism for how terrible her prior images were.
In a nutshell, she attended a multi-level marketing lingerie party, and there was a quicky boudoir session as part of the evening activities. But, the photographer was not a specialist, did not know how to pose her subjects, struggled with the lighting, and was not particularly gifted at editing. When she showed me a couple of the images from the session, I was embarrassed for my profession to be respresented by those images.
And I couldn’t get past the heart break for this beautiful young woman who had only that as her intimate portrait experience!
Because she new me well, she trusted me and wanted to try again. And because I knew her beauty both inside and out - I was willing to take on the challenge!
I was honored!
The pressure was on in my mind to redeem her experience. To make it right for her and her heart.
Our time in the studio was relaxed conversational, encouraging and filled with woman to woman connection.
And we were successful!
She came away with images she wanted to share with her best girlfriends - who knew about her prior experience and even went through it with her.
She came away feeling beautiful.
She came away feeling confident and worthy.
She came away excited to be a woman.
She came away healed and with a healthier perspective on her body.
Her relationship with intimate photography was redeemed.
