Why You Need An In-Person Consultation Before Your Boudoir Session
If you saw my most recent prior blog, you know that the In-Person Consultation is one of the safety measures you want in place with your boudoir photographer. While it is an important part of your safety, it is important part of your boudoir session success for several other reasons.
2. A Discovery Consultation helps me pose you better! - Say what???
It is my responsibility to direct you in the poses that are best for you, your personality and your body type. My approach to posing is to give you prompts of something to do - a movement, an activity, a facial expression. While I will happily show you what it is I want by doing it first, knowing you, your body, and your personality will really help to find the right posing prompts for you quicker.
The in person consultation allows is for me to observe how you sit, stand, walk, tilt your head, make eye contact, smile and move in your own skin. Spending even 45 to 60 minutes with you talking, laughing, answering questions allows me to make those observations without putting you on the spot. I get to see you move naturally so I can pose you naturally. The end result is you get images that are more natural and capture who you are better! That means you get better and a larger variety of images to choose from!
3. A Discovery Consultation gives you a head start on your preparations for your Boudoir Session.
At the consultation we can take the opportunity to begin a Pinterest mood board where you can explore the style you want for your session and communicate that to me visually. It will cover everything from what style of makeup you want, how to do your hair, what you want to wear, and the type of poses you like to the visual mood you want.
We will go over the items available to you in my studio wardrobe, your own wardrobe, and what if anything you need to acquire to complete your vision. I will answer any questions you have about preparations - everything from what to eat, to timing on getting your hair colored body hair removal options, and including how to come ready for your hair and makeup session before your shoot.
Here’s the other big thing you should know about an In-Person Consultation - it comes with no obligation. It is your opportunity to explore, ask questions, check me out, and you don’t have to spend a cent to take advantage of it. Plus, I just might buy you a coffee and a cookie to keep it super friendly.
So, request a consultation (use the button in the upper right of this page or the form at the bottom of this page), and let’s see if we are a match and can make some beautiful images together.
